I am in intensive outpatient therapy and that's why I late voted or missed votes. It wasn't strategy. I was wolf, yes, but I wasn't lying about that. Please do not be a dick about this. I'm recovering after being in the hospital for being suicidal and ww has been able to get my mind off things.

great minion/great wolf team

the wolves almost definitely would have won no matter what, they were all at the top of their game

Any hidden role game needs to be balanced way toward the village side.

Mason+Minion on top of that is just absurd. Was the fact that there were 3 masons knowable to anyone outside of the masons? How would you have come across that information before it was too late?

There were no checks against the abilities you gave the wolves

in pure ludic terms, I'm opposed to hidden roles or hidden rules

and I don't think rules/roles should be open to interpretation or require divination of any kind

that's a philosophical thing, though, I guess

I mean one check against the photographer's power is to not scan the game's most controversial figure who was also the most prominent player in the previous game

Village never had a chance with a mason that is also the minion. It's inexplicable. I'm not MAD though

The minion/mason thing was broken and I don't think there's really any logical argument against it.

Lynching stakeout was insane though, it was clear at that point that 90% of the village was no paying attention.

Palmer was saying Casimir was only approached by one player the whole game. You can't win as a complacent village.

also, people who register and post twice in the course of a game are a real drag on the village

can people not do that (absent unforeseen real-life stuff, obv)

That's what I mean about absentee and passenger villagers. What's the point?

They had no real tools to use. I would've just thrown up my hands too. You can't logically work anything out.

I told pretty much anyone who asked there were 3 masons. I told stakeout there were 2 other masons like an hour into the game.

You yourself have said 1,000 times that you have to talk to people, it's the only way to learn anything.

You have to be able to make inferences from talking though, and that comes via a set of rules you can work from. There's only so much uncertainty you can add to those rules before it scopes out of your ability to do anything with.

i think part of the problem with the low participation was the feeling that they had nothing to go on, even after night kills

usually there's something to learn from a night kill. information is revealed when you work out why that person was a target, and it encourages public conversations about who the person was talking to, how they posted, what could they have said or done that made them enough of a threat that they had to be eliminated

but there was no info from the night kills, the reason for killing them was very clear and required no debate: they were good specials. there's nothing to glean from that. the only thing the village can learn from that is that the wolves knows something they don't, which just adds to the feeling of helplessness and hopelessness

but shit yeah dudes power through and get talkin

i feel like uni came up with a bunch of great ways to help better balance future games, because the more we play the harder the wolves have it, and i don't want that to be overlooked

oh and i want to say that everything i said to and about vhb in this thread, save for the last thing, was complete shit and untrue and i was just trying to make him not want to talk to me in order to keep him from figuring out my role

i just can't for the life of me figure out how one kills stakeout, who had been scanned (and came back good!) by both seers, and then let palmer lead people to kill separator the very next day. even if the photographer had gotten all the good specials on night 1, there was a clear logic that should have been followed there and it just wasn't
