Yeah that looks awesome

On the other hand, the Ellen Page show:

Plot:

“Stitch N’ Bitch” is about two painfully cool hipster girls as they relocate from Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighborhood to Los Angeles’ Silver Lake enclave in hopes of becoming artists.

Facts:
The idea for the series was born on New Year’s in Sayulita, Mexico (Source: citypages.com)
The first two episodes were written during the writer trio's trip to Amsterdam (Source: citypages.com)
Quotes:
“Everyone is playing an amped-up version of themselves, for the most part. I'll be kind of like the Schneider in the girls' apartment building. Ellen and Alia will be Nico and Kyla in a perfect world. That's the idea, but we can't really announce anything official yet because we haven't shot anything yet.”
(Har Mar Superstar/Sean Tillman on the role he is playing in the production; Source: citypages.com)

“I think it’s a mix of both. They’re lovable characters, but at the same time they are silly hipsters. But that’s something that’s so funny about hipsters, that they take it as an insult if you call them that word. It is making fun of them, but also making fun of ourselves, because Ellen and I are a part of that world, I guess.”
(Alia Shawkat on the question whether the series will be pro-hipster or anti-hipster; Source: complex.com)

how to make it in america is like that one friend of yours who tweets all day about parties he's promoting and how good the restaurant he's eating at is, and then tosses #fb on the end so it makes it to his facebook page as well

Yeah EB&D is the only show on HBO that lives up to the greats.

GoT is thoroughly entertaining but I don't think it deserves placement next to the Sopranos/Wire/Deadwood level of greatness HBO has made. It's definitely close though.

Nothing else really lives up to those three though. Personally I'd put Mad Men and now Louie on that plane but not much else.

everything I've heard about breaking bad makes me assume it could be tier 1 with wire, sopranos, deadwood

haven't seen enough mad men

Louie is tier 1 for sure for me at least

Breaking Bad flirts with it but it's not as consistent as the others.

I posted this in the thread for it but Louie is probably my second favorite show of all-time now.

current in order:

Game of Thrones
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Bored To Death
The Life & Times of Tim
True Blood
Boardwalk Empire
Treme
Eastbound and Down
The Ricky Gervais Show
Funny or Die Presents
How to Make It in America
Hung

boardwalk empire is off to a great start. can't help but liking bored to death. eastbound and down looks low on the list but all those shows above are solid and i thought the second season was a let down.

i've never watched true blood or hung, because why would i subject myself to that. so i don't have the perspective to be able to say that Treme is better than something (which it isn't)

I can't imagine having strong feelings for Treme either way

Hung's continued existence mystifies me. I can't really get down with True Blood or Bored to Death but they clearly have very defined demographics that they appeal to. Who the fuck is watching Hung?

pretty much the opposite actually. it holds no appeal for me, so why would i watch it. i would consider it a well-considered decision, in the interest of not wasting time.

i mean i wasted countless hours watching s1 of Treme. it's only after looking back on how bad it was that I'm kind of angry I let it steal that much time from me.

Hung was just about the worst drama show I've ever watched an entire season of. Was it back to back with Boardwalk at some point? I think that might have been why I watched it. Anyway, fuck that show so hard.

i'm not defending the show, i can understand that people wouldn't like it - but your cumstain way of talking about it just ridiculous.
