kino, are you using an iphone app to edit those photos? or; do you just take them on your iphone and then edit them on a computer?

Jill Greenberg and Richard Avedon of course for basic portraiture. David Lachappelle is also really interesting to look at for lighting inspiration, as well as Gregory Crewdson. Both are more complex scene lighting compared to like Avedon who was doing frontal portraits. Also running searches on Tableau Photography to get ideas for complex scenes. If you're interested in doing portraits I highly recommend looking at a lot of fashion photography, both color and black and white, as it relies so heavily on dramatic lighting. And of course if you're doing still lifes you can never go wrong with some of Edward Westons peppers!

I recently got Lightroom and I've finally gotten around to editing / uploading my pictures from the past year. I have no clue how to do this, I'm trying not to filter my photos to death

Ha. I keep going back to the top two images you posted, Quixotic. Like at least a dozen or more times. Love the color of both and the moment captured on the second. Sweet.

DO IT TYLER. Like most things, you just keep at it until it works or you give up in disgust.

Here's one of the original images I used to make that double exposure.
