The most revered episode is that shitty one where we just see the same thing happen 7 times?

Yeah that is fucking ridiculous.

I wasn't really that impressed with “Remedial Chaos Theory" and I tried to think of another episode that stood out in my mind and all I could think of was the episode with the trampoline and the bottle episode.
i enjoy the best cheeseburgers.

I thought the Jim Belushi line was all right (kind of beating a dead horse there) and it stood out because i think it might've been the only joke in the episode.

Fairly sure he lead a panel at Comic-con so this likely happened.

NEWSWIRE
Today in self-serving news: Comic-Con hosts Community panel moderated by The A.V. Club's Todd VanDerWerff
By Sean O'Neal July 8, 2010
We’ve made no attempts to hide our appreciation of NBC’s Community, and it looks as though all those swooning overtures have finally paid off: Our own Todd VanDerWerff will host a Community panel at this year’s Comic-Con, taking place the afternoon of July 24. Cast members Joel McHale, Chevy Chase, Donald Glover, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, and Yvette Nicole Brown will all participate in a moderated discussion and Q&A session, along with producers Dan Harmon, Joe and Anthony Russo, Neil Goldman, Garrett Donovan, and Russ Krasnoff. Reached for comment, VanDerWerff’s A.V. Club colleagues proclaimed him a lucky son of a bitch, which is just a passive-aggressive way of saying they’re both proud and insanely jealous of him.

Community was pretty bad, I think I laughed at a few things but I'm exhausted.

Watching 30 Rock, had to pause to say that Dennis Duffy is the fucking best.

Catherine Tate still being in The Office sucks. She is the worst ginger lady. 'Chumbo' was good though.

30 Rock was back to it's mediocre best.

30 Rock has been the most consistent show on the poop factory this year. Really liked this episode as well.

30 Rock was wonderful. Felt like an episode from its heyday. Duffy always puts a huge smile on my face.
The Office was horrible. Catherine Tate is so awful.
Community was unbearable. And I've definitely been an apologist for it in the past. At least there was Brie canz.
The scene after the credits with

was the only thing I laughed at. Fuck this show.

jesus christ what is wrong with these people

Unregistered Guy Named Eric

Yeah, I guess I'll go ahead and be an asshole on this one.

There's something...troubling about AV Club articles that seem to feel guilty about embracing something sophisticated. They hover over platitudes (totally foreign to me) like "monoculture" like they're mourning a mass, communal experience I've never associated with TV, or any pop culture in my lifetime. Worse, there seems to be a level of moral doubt, like they're so steeped in anti-intellectualism that they have to look over their own shoulder to make sure their ol' hometown crowd isn't going to label them a snob for pursuing an elevated or definitive opinion, one that's ahead of popular discourse, even though that's literally the job of the critic.

I certainly wouldn't accuse any Hyden article I've read of "thinking too much about this stuff." That's not where any comment-based backlash against him is focused. On the contrary, it's his tentative, nervous stabs at capturing pre-formed, basic, reactionary opinions - ideas that are, at their best, already thoroughly recycled, that makes him such an easy target. Also, it's not a job-related failure, since those "You know what's coming from the headline/grade" type pieces succeed in getting page views. It's that they have one foot in the Teen Wraparound section of the local paper, and those constraints aren't necessary.

Hopefully I've been shitty enough here that no one else feels like they have to be.
