looks like we'll finally get payoff on chehkov's rifle this season (Pete will have to murder Rodger in self-defense when gets attacked?)

the baby's butt was foreshadowing megan's butt at the end. he's a spoiled baby; she's a spoiled baby. as Don will surely come to find out.

clutchcity wrote:new actor for bobby every year is pretty distracting

this was more subtle symbolism. every year Don's offspring has literally a new face to present to the world, just like every year Don presents a new face/is ultimately faceless

he's been a joke the entire show, the cool thing is how it's become more apparent as things have progressed

I had the same reaction, but Sepinwall says the whole event, including that line, are based off a 1966 NYT story.

I really don't think the racial stuff on this show has ever been as bad as people make it out to be. It's obviously a tough line for them to walk, but even tougher for them to sit out completely. I'm intrigued to see how it plays out.

yeah i think race issues on this show are kind of one dimensional because that is how they're seen from the POV of the main characters

Did Harry have the colonial (?) style office furniture last season? Anyway, Pete and Lane were wonderful and I like where they seem to be going with them. Pete staring out the window of the office and train were nice scenes. I've never liked Joan at all and found her pretty grating and annoying both at home and her return to the office.

Kind of surprised at all the love for Roger. I guess he's meant to be more annoying than in the past, so maybe that's a good thing. Funny as he is, I just kind of hope he dies for the other characters' sanity. Hopefully Pete drives him to even more pathetic lows. Love Megan.

In any event, Stallone's cameo as the plumber will be the lasting legacy for me.

I don't know if I've ever been more in love with a TV character than I was when Megan sang.

Also, I'm just gonna have to stay out of this thread if it's the consensus that Megan was being a spoiled brat by being upset after Don shit on her efforts to finally give him a good birthday.

there seems to be some sort of thing where it is always the fault of the women characters that they are upset when the male characters do something dickish in shows hpn watches.

I can't quite put my finger on it

I only read this page, so "consensus" might have been the wrong word, but:
