again, just check out weedmaps.com - they lay out where all of the doctors are as well as the co-ops with prices and menus. i think sd has fewer dispensaries but there is definitely an mmj program/community there.

The extent of my experience with vaporizers is the MFLB and this shitty box vaporizer I got off of eBay for like $30 that broke within the week that it arrived. If the extreme Q is more effective than the MFLB (which I love) then I'd be happy.

it should be. mflb is just a heating coil, the extreme q, i think is forced air, so you'll get bigger, fuller bags/hits with it.

gherig, you gonna have some crazy dreams going off the pot.

oh rad - any pre98 stuff is cool, it means it's the genetics before the strain got crossed with big bud, which is basically a harvest multiplier but, i guess, cuts down on potency. i've only had pre-98 chem.

"Grappleberry", some hybrid strain that a friend of a friend bred for a paraplegic patient as caregiver. I've been really stressed and having muscle spasms the past month or so and this stuff does the trick for that kind of pain and doesn't put me to sleep. Oregon's "2 patient/designated grower" system results in some pretty weird strains that are all based on the standard crosses for better or worse; it's probably one incarnation of Northern Lights x Berry or another, which I'm not complaining about of course but I do miss getting really potent nugs of Super Silver Haze and other "brand name strains" from up north. Washington's already-great weed scene really blew up over the last year or so and has become more "Cali". Of course names are just names, buddy once sold me some stuff and called it "Frost/Nixon" then later copped to having made up the name on the spot but man we still laugh our asses off at that.

I'd still make the bold claim that Oregon has the cheapest weed in the country though, second to probably Colorado.

last I cared to check was maybe a year ago (I definitely felt like an idiot googling variations of "skywalker weed" over and over again). I think this stuff was simply called "skywalker" and wasn't a Kush so it could be the slang that picked up for whatever weed the OG is crossed with. Stoners need to be writing this shit down in a cohesive manner...what if Jonas Salk been all "yeah dude, this is just some fire polio vaccine, my buddy and I grew it"?

well, most of the people outside of california and colorado are just full of shit in general. here genetics matter because of the vast selection. it's pretty easy to tell when someone is selling something that isn't grown right or isn't the genetics they say it is once you're exposed to all the strains and try a bunch.

hey now, don't be talkin' shit bout the 100 dollar fire! blunted on a budget. Don't forget we reap the benefits of having CA to south and BC bud coming down the emerald highway!

no you're right, and that's sorta what I was saying; Oregon doesn't really have a regulated dispensary system yet. We do have "clubs" where you pay a "membership fee" and it's basically just a place to meet growers. Really cool way to skirt some stupid laws but you don't get the consistency of quality that you find places like Cali and Amsterdam where the market is taken seriously. I don't have a card nor need one yet, but you can get one here for $30 if you present an EBT card, so if I lose my very trustworthy connect any time soon (I probably wont) I'll just suck it up and go to the clubs. I get better deals and a couple of the best nugz off the top, so no problemo I feel better being off "The List" though; now that legalization is in the talks I'm getting nervous about stuff like that affecting background checks.

The strains I can and have identified by smell and appearance alone are Blue Dream and Afghan Goo. And I love both dearly.

hey i got a question for ya nautical:

alright now let's be honest first. you seem like you "smoke a lotta reefer".
I'll be quite honest myself...I smoke a lot of reefer too. I like my "shit" mad "dank", even if it costs daddy a little extra.

do you think other people just "don't get it"? are we "just a coupla potheads ramblin'" about the physical/mental benefits of habitual marijuana use and possibly masking underlying issues pertaining to an underlying reliance on altered states of consciousness while spending more time trying to justify our lifestyle to ourselves while smoking away money that could be used for savings, or are we sincerely just types of people who benefit moreso than not from pot?

I think I might've read a couple of your posts about mmj, sorry if I've confused you with someone else but I believe it was related to sciatica or something shitty like that? (no need to re-tell stories, not tryin to pry into yr shit or nothin either). I've got chronic muscle spasms in my upper back, shoulder, and neck; x-ray showed a bit of scoliosis and abnormally loose ligaments that very easily forms a pinched nerve right in that great spot beneath your shoulder blade and neck that radiates out—I do all the stretches and stuff to try to strengthen it like all doctors recommend but one bad day can undo everything. Going to the chiropractor helps but of course, but it only makes things looser so inevitably I ended up needing to visit frequently. If I were to get a card this is probably what would do it, but in addition I've got IBS and all sorts of other things that weed stops dead in its tracks. When my back slips out, it affects all sorts of things from my arms sometimes going numb to getting "shocked" if I turn my neck the wrong way, and a high quality indica dominant stops all sorts of spasm pain from interfering with my life and of course back pain just ruins your mood completely.

Anyways; I don't keep track of how much I smoke anymore, I just smoke a few bowls whenever I'm at the house and I do everything from 4 hour classes to cleaning the kitchen while high. I ended up quitting cigarettes with weed but developed the tolerance as a result, but with the tolerance I found that I can smoke without worrying about getting "too high" and go about my day doing things without thinking twice. 99% of people I talk to including a lot of stoners think I'm absolutely insane for this. Even my dealer elbows me about it from time to time; I apparently have the "Seth Rogan gene" or something...

So what's your take on this, if ya got one? I've noticed I feel shittier when I smoke not so great weed, so the solution has been to prioritize top shelf weed vs. settling and it makes a huge difference. I stopped drinking regularly, have more money for weed now, feel like I'm top of the Earth as a result, and meanwhile everyone down below me in 'squaresville' is hootin' and hollerin' because they can't handle their own shit, like all these reformed liberals who have to hate on weed just because it turns shitty people shittier and they couldn't handle "the shame" of being recreational drug users or something.

the obvious answer is "yes, if you have to contemplate it for 4 paragraphs", but what I'm contemplating is the notion that people just can't get used to the fact that SOME people find MARIJUANA to be helpful when used DAILY

yeah but I guess I'm referring also to "looking glass" notion of it all pertaining to smoking lots of weed, i.e., can you even talk about pot seriously anymore without being stigmatized? I feel like the MMJ community received a lot of sympathy that was taken back rather quickly because like all divisive issues that become mainstream, people change their opinions as soon as the majority advocacy appears to lose credibility.

For example, I think NORML is a wonderful organization but has been ineffective and naive when it comes to approaching conservatives. It relies on the support of the subculture so it makes sense that they'd want to appeal to that but the organized movement to legalize is politically messy and in my opinion therefore seems ineffective.

I'm visiting Portland and have been just blown away with what my friends have given us.
We stopped by a store here and I walked out with the Launch Box (because I remembered it from this thread), a grinder, and three bowls. Went a little crazy, but I think it was a quality purchase.
