even if all of them screwed up milch still concluded the scene with "no icing error, this" which only has one meaning

yeah i don't see how "no icing error, this" is supposed to be a punchline.

well it's a punchline

edit: excellent timing

maybe i'm just forgetting a twin peaks style ominous tone and slow zoom onto the cake that ends the scene

rewatching the scene makes it pretty obvious

actually you're right, it isn't the punchline, there's too much of a pause before it
it is however gus being stupid

i want to think that but the delivery and the music cue seem to imply something.

not that i really care! jesus! i give up! i'm done. i started by making fun of the debate, now i'm full retardedly involved in it. that's it! no more.

the only things i can think of was that it was a deliberate misspelling just to taunt ace and greek. or "an icing error." or maybe there's more to it but i think we'll have to wait for milch commenting on it.

did "wait to go" have any direct correlation with anything wth the races after that scene. or was is something like, "don't move too fast" with the revenge machinations.

i still think it was just a misspelling.but the last line kinda screws that up. i cant believe im actually putting thought into this.

well like i said, assuming it was a message, it does correspond to the unfolding of literally every race in the series, with the trainer watching the race and muttering to himself to wait, and not go yet and then at the exact right moment, the hit the throttle. it would not be surprising or out of nowhere if that was designed to operate as a metaphor for a longer arc of the series.

I've stayed out of this thread because I've always been a week or two behind on the DVR, and now I come in here and see this stupid cake debate and wish I never opened it.

what was the line "in the long term, we will probably end up broke" or somethin like that...

reminded me of milch's "next hand" comment.

Finally watching through the whole series now. Rewatched the pilot and ep 2 first, watched eps 3-5 now. goddamn, how awesome is this series? So many great moments already, the moment when Nolte's horse wins his first race, the other guys getting Jimmy to leave the private poker game, Ace sleeping in the stables... I'm already sad that i've got only four more episodes to watch :(
leila came round and we watched a video.
