What's your vinyl setup like?

Jesus christ you have to be kidding me.

That particular Expedit was assembled by someone who can't tell up from down. Most people are safe from such problems.

Hey kristop, I seem to remember Freaker Pipe coming in with some mail-order coupon thing?
Will I actually get something in return if I send you a dollar?

all of the records i own now were stolen from the local college radio station. no one listened to them anyway, that's why i took them.

Hey, vinyl dudes: I don't know very much about how the technology works so some advice for a budget conscious set up (I don't use my turntable much)

I have a p-mount Ortofon OMP 10 cartridge, which I think works fine,

But my needle broke, which is/was an Ortofon 10, I believe:

Can someone point me to a good, ~$30 or less replacement of the type I need? I am guessing not all needles are interchangeable

Thanks!

Just get a replacement Ortofon Om 10. It's a good entry level stylus that I started with and just kept using. I'd just call up the Needle Doctor and get the right replacement stylus and call it a day.

i live with three other guys so i keep my setup in my room

it's cool though because i always listen to records when i'm on the computer

or since my shitty sony turntable has auto-return, i can put one on every night when i go to bed

Thread inspired me to finally buy an Expedit so I can get everything set up in my living room as opposed to my office.

I use them, but I hate having to take the sleeve off and put it back on. I also think they look cooler without sleeves.

I would like to get sleeves for most, if not all of my records, but I'd probably need to buy 500 to start. Blech.

I've been buying from Bags Unlimited for years and years, and I've got nothing but good things to say about them. This is my preferred sleeve - http://www.bagsunlimited.com/p-4186-12-record-jacket-sleeve.aspx - but they have many others to choose from.

On Friday I bought a Pro-ject Debut MKIII for £36 off eBay, because the dude listed it wrong. He'd upgraded the cartridge and upgraded it to an an acrylic platter. Guy lost so much money on this. I had to drive 2 hours to get it, but so what, it's pretty brilliant.
