the only bad thing about this episode was the needless karth/quarth pronunciation punchline, which made no sense because dany had never seen the word written, had only heard it pronounced karth, and had said it that way herself earlier in the episode

So even though she had grown up on Essos, she had never seen a map or been given a geography lesson? I can see how as a young naive girl she may have pronounced it that way, and then maybe she slipped back into her old ways from being so exhausted.

Hell, I still accidentally pronounce recluse as 'ree-kloos' pretty regularly, even though I have known for over 15 years that it's actually supposed to be 'reck-loos'.

They've been criminally unclear as to the nature of the dragons-- like, can certain people control them or are they just wild animals that fuck everything up for shits? Are they wise and gold loving? Aeyrs II "The Mad King" (Dany's dad) was king before Robert. Jamie assassinated Aerys during Robert's rebellion. People give Jamie shit for it regardless because he was/is in The Kingsguard, who are supposed to protect the king at all times from all threats with their lives if necessary (think Secret Service). Jamie did the exact opposite of that and didn't even get fired.

dany wants to invade westeros, but she has lost her army with the death of drogo. therefore the qarthians have something she needs (besides the immediate need of food/water), while she has something they potentially want (healthy, nation-conquering dragons). there's something in it for both sides, if they back her, and she's successful. nobody in qarth is responsible for the murder of dany's father or her exile from westeros, so not sure what your last question means.

Yeah, I mean, extending a shaky metaphor even further, if you're a tiny group with a goal, having nukes is a gigantic advantage but you're not going to be able to accomplish much more than terrorism in the long run. You still need alliances/ground forces/economic support if you hope to conquer a kingdom while leaving it usable, let alone rule once the war is done.
