Basically, Baldur’s Dreams is what I imagine Morricone doing the soundtrack to a movie about medieval Norwegians fighting in the woods and snow would sound like. I mean:

Act 2
Spring elves clothe the woods and mountain sides in a green blanket.
But from the mountains the giants send their envoys with chill and storms, and chase
away the vernal elves. Everything begins to freeze. Spirits rise from the fjords and
set the cold to flight. Again all is dressed in green. Flowers appear. Birds sing. All
stands in silent adornment.
The hill-creatures come out in ceremonious dance, and all the animals join in.
Then the poet god Brage arrives and in song declares that summer is on its way.
Behind come the human creatures.
Baldur, the sun god, arrives dancing. All are spellbound. Entranced they see the
graceful figure of the sun god and his divine dance. Baldur blesses the summer.
All at once Hod and other blind people appear on the scene and break into dance,
neither seeing nor paying heed to anything. With brute force they flail about,
destroying everything they touch. Baldur and the others disperse in dread. Among
the blind multitude they can do nothing. Hod and the other blind folk try to join the
dance, but merely cause total confusion.
