I believe del was referring to him as a genie just because he granted Ayra's wish by killing whom she asked him to.

he wasn't implying he had special powers or anything. there was certainly no insinuation as such that you missed.

How come Jon never wears a hat? It's cold!!!!

Was it me, or were the scenes in this episode longer compared to the last one? At least it felt that way, which especially helped Dany's storyline.

Yeah to be clear, I only referred to him as the Genie of Killing People because he will grant your 3 death wishes. I haven't read the books, I assume he isn't a real genie.

well, the episode was called 'the ghost of harrenhal', so you could assume he's an actual ghost if you really felt like it

tywin's lazy cousin?
the ghost of arya stark from winterfell?
that genie ninja (NOT REALLY A GENIE/NINJA) guy even though ifear just confirmed it isn't?
gendry's shirt?
the tickler?

so many choices, only one to choose!

I never got the impression he had any powers. He was just rewarding Arya for setting him free and saving his life.

edit: oh look, there's a page 19. Somebody else already said that. Whoops.

is it too obvious to point out that the invite to the warlock house (house of the undying?) is pretty witch house?

to reiterate, he passes arya in the hall and makes sure she sees the helmet he's holding, and immediately afterward she goes down the stairs and sees the same helmet sitting on the water barrel, followed by his appearance. it might not be magic, but that sequence of events kinda points to something extraordinary happening at least, imo.

Uff da.

I jammed through all the previous episodes of this show prior to last week's in a couple days and I couldn't help but constantly wonder how many times George R.R. Martin must have jerked off while writing these books and how many more times he's jerked off during production of the series.

I'm sure that's been beaten to death here and elsewhere, and I'm not saying he's not a decent soul or whatever, but cripes

He can definitely be a little pervy sometimes, but it works well since he's writing about a pretty pervy society

If you guys decide to read the series you can join the decade old tradition of trying to sift through Martin's 25,000 word blog posts about the Jets and Giants for updates on when the next book is coming (someday!)

Uff da.

To be fair here is what a fully dressed woman looked like in ancient Minoa:

Aren't the Minoans a BC civilization though? Were there any medieval Eurasian civilizations that kept their tits out, since this fantasy series is (I think) concerned with "historical accuracy"? I honestly don't know.

I mean, I don't know why I'm arguing this (whatever it is I'm arguing), I appreciate a good Ros scene just like Martin

The Dany storyline, in contrast to most of the rest of the series, is not at all interested in historical accuracy or realism. The areas of the world that she passes through are straight-up pulp exoticism (toned down significantly for the show, but you still get stuff like the Dothraki murders-make-a-lucky-wedding! stuff), and the bare-breasted costume is part of that.
