no way. they usually play speedy wingers with rooney dropping deep and a striker up front. today's starting lineup was all about controlling possession (giggs, park) and absorbing pressure. rooney left completely isolated, an afterthought. completely asinine. i mean did fergie really think they could grind out a clean sheet? with THAT defense?

at least they can scrap that whole plan and go for it now

I mean partly it's just wanting to see the venality of the Premier League exposed once again (not that all the leagues aren't won by the teams with the most money, of course..), but largely I've been watching Man Utd win things all my life and it'd be fun to have a close run-in with a different team, even if they are a buncha mercenaries
