Made it home from Scofflaw without a scratch. A small but notable victory.

I just requested July 6th and 7th off of work for no good reason.

Somebody in Chicago should party with me that weekend.

If I'm remembering the name correctly, sleigh had me go to Scofflaw with him once before and I loved the bartenders there
I think when I come for the weekend in July I want to start there and then drunkenly make my way to some place where I can dance with strangers

i am visiting chicago on wednesday for five days. what are the best places to go for beer, both bars and a bottle shop? also, recommendations for good, relatively cheap restaurants and coffee shops would be great.

i suppose map room, hopleaf, fountainhead, and maria's (as a bottle shop) would be the old reliable standby recommendations, but none of these excite me in the way they used to. danny's in logan square has a decent bottle selection. lush used to have a nice cantillon selection but not so much anymore. northdown has a lot of rotational three floyds draft stuff depending on when you're there, but i never feel blown away by any one beer bar in chicago.
