ive been thinking about picking this up

I recommend it. I'm surprised that no one else here seems to be playing it. It lacks polish but it reminds me a little bit of Demon's Souls/Dark Souls. Not as difficult but there's not a lot of hand holding. The pawn system is really neat as well.

between this and burning through arkham city again, i really want a zelda metal gear solid. like it's set in the 80s in nothern africa, but within a huge chunk of it so you can have that variety of locales: urban, jungle, desert (+egypt), mountains, plains, beaches, ocean. and it's the metal gear universe so technology is just a step ahead, but still mostly analog as it was in mgs3. and you have this mystery/action-adventure/stealth game set in this alternate reality and man it would be so awesome. that could be kojima's castlevania

gonna be fixated on this metal gear idea for a while. it's what i'd drop everything to do if i had the money to put some people together

edit: either that or i'd make game set on some campus in the pacific northwest where people go fly fishing all the time

i love those 'ask me about' bits in the monkey island games - it's the only way i'd heard of loom, and got me interested in grim fandango (to this day, probably my favourite game).
i like how double fine do the same kind of thing now, with charlie blackmore from stacking popping up in the costume quest dlc. fun stuff.

oh lord, i cannot wait for the cave. i'm not the only one with a childlike excitement about this, right?

Is "The Cave" the game that was Kickstarter funded, or is that a different game?

that backwoods point and click lunatics were even questioning its validity as an adventure game was quite disillusioning

The viva pinata on sale is the mini-game collection like mario party. Not the normal, pinata-raising game.

this is fair enough.

the happiest memory i have is of her coming over to my place one weekend and bringing her playstation and just forcing me to play mgs all weekend while she lay in bed going 'you'll love this bit' about the whole game. that might have been the weekend i lost my virginity, but that's not so memorable. i do remember we watched memento and listened to music has the right to children a lot that weekend, though.

i recognise that no-one cares.

kameo can be fun, but it's bloated to hell and one of the goofiest looking games ever made (though occasionally kinda beautiful)

don't know if anyone but me owns a vita here, but if you do, dlc for wipeout 2048 is out with the full wipeout HD and Fury games from ps3. if you own them digitally on ps3 they're free for the vita! so 2048 is now basically the ultimate collection for wipeout fans
