Although I'm kinda bummed that Marvel isn't taking full advantage of Fantastic Four #616.

Yeah, I'd expect at least Fantastic Four, Captain America & Iron Man to get relaunched. The rest were either new enough and there's enough X-Men titles already.

I don't care what happens to Uncanny as long it means the current book is gone forever.

It wouldn't be anywhere near as goofy if they hadn't just plonked him into being director of SHIELD straight away.

I imagine there'd be some decent storytelling space in having a Year One style chance to reinvent Nick Fury... watching him come up-- new, imperfect, working his way through the ranks. But telling a good story is so far removed from anything they've set out to accomplish with this.

Archie are you expecting many for the WD thing tonight? I know I wouldn't be too bothered with a midnight sale unless I could get my other books at the same time

Snyder's basically confirming my biggest fear in this latest round of interviews for his Joker arc-- that he's becoming the next Loeb

But seriously, that people are eating this shit up-- Owlman being a villain, Joker being "the scariest he's ever been," The Killing Joke being "the last big Joker story"-- for me, represents the great divide between rational comic fans and the vocal minority calling for Morrison's head on a pike (I've actually witnessed this in real life, verbatim). I discussed with this a friend earlier, who thinks Inc. is "too offbeat" before reminding me that Batman *is* "grim 'n gritty" even though I had just used Morrison's Batman run and Waid's Daredevil both as examples of how to successfully steer a franchise away from stagnant waters.

Fucking fuck, man, fuck.

I mean "Death of the Family" () had better be some mindblowing comics.

That being said, don't be surprised if Layman's 'tec is suddenly better than the flagship title by next fall.

Snyder is in his third year of writing comic books. He's just now figuring out how to do superhero stuff. He is in charge of DC's biggest selling franchise.

Yeah I'd say those conditions could lead to a wrong turn or two.
