Boarders Of Michigan.....

Jesus christ you have to be kidding me.

I used to live in mexicantown. found the place just by walking around looking for rent signs and ending up talking to a guy who was watering his lawn who rented a few places out. mexicantown and hamtramck are probably the most affordable, assuming you have a car or love riding your bike.

i should keep this a secret, but speaking of sandwiches...there is now an amazing artisanal sausage place in ann arbor called Biercamp. it is on S. State Street, just south of the Produce Station and across from the UM golf course. their 12-hour brisket sandwiches are out of this world, and everything else is pretty great too.

Well, back in the 1800's Michigan did have parts of Ohio in its borders.

Seriously, everyone get on that Biercamp shit

They make excellent fresh and cured sausages, bacon, jerky and other charcuterie as well as the sandwiches
Also they're working on getting legal to serve a house beer, which is taking some time due to zoning issues

i am just waiting until Biercamp gets that hot dog thing going. it's just sitting on their back counter taunting me everytime i go in. i don't usually go for hot dogs, but i know theirs are going to be incredible. especially if they make chili to go on them.

btw, when you are on the west side, check out this new mexican place called Chela's. it's on S Maple at Liberty just one block past W. Stadium, next to McGuire's Barber Shop (which used to be known as Joe's Barber Shop.) I like Chela's tacos even better than the newish Taco King on Liberty. Chela's doesn't have a website yet, but they're open for lunch and until 10pm on weeknights.

Do you Ann Arbor people ever go to La Casita on Washtenaw in Ypsi? I haven't been there in a few years but I thought it was the best Mexican food in the area by a country mile.

Had this for the first time. Holy shit the chili cheese and bacon bratwurst was amazing. As was the smoked kielbasa. I'll be in A2 a lot now so they'll definitely be getting more of my money.

Yes, yes it is. by a looonnng country mile, though I have to go try Chela's still.

La Casita got an annarbor.com write up a few months ago and its slammed every time I go now, but still so worth the wait

Plus huckleberry party store is around the corner in the same strip, perfect Friday night one-stop shopping

Looks like Rodriguez is going to be playing the Traverse City Wine and Art Festival in June.
I'll probably be up there later in the summer. Too bad because I would love to see this.
I am old and cranky.
Here is my music.
