just bought tickets to see them and Grizzly Bear on the beach at governor's island in august. can't wait. cost a small fortune but I could care less. gonna bring a flask and be so blasted.

you and me is not a great record to listen to during/after a break up, but oh well. their new one should be coming soon, I hope.

they played a normal set for their free show at the live diggnation during SXSW.

they played so much new stuff when I saw them in February, kind of shocked that the new album info hasn't dropped yet except that it'll be on fat possum. According to wikipedia it's been in the can since last August.

My inside sources (their message board) tell me that they're been recording as recently as last month or so.

As a close confident of the band, via my inside sources, I can tell you that they laid down 13 or so tracks back in august, but have been reworking many of the songs on tour, and perhaps that was the fate of the those 13.

apparently "the New York Post cited The Beach @Governors Island as “the best place to see out-of-doors rock 'n' roll in NYC."

i'm not sold on that endorsement

seems like all of the shows going on there are really expensive

well I noticed there was a $12 mark-up on the tickets, but at least $5 of that is a ferry fee. that is about the only acceptable fee for a show I can think of.

i remember when Y&M came out and nobody was really expecting anything from them after the minor misstep of A Hundred Miles Off.
