it's pretty bad. my mom and quite a few friends are teachers and the pay is terrible. i think it's like 24k for first year with a bachelors.

charlotte-mecklenburg is laying off 500 teachers this year but the county budget still puts up 2 mil for cameras at intersections to catch people running red lights. they sold us on an education lottery that apparently has never went toward education in anyway.

When my mom taught there were 11 weeks in aggregate that were teacher holidays.

yeah in the UK a lot of teachers take leave on half-terms because theyre summers are too busy

although our old physics teacher just used to hole himself away in a house and yell at people for 9 weeks

Because of the low ceiling, it's a good job for someone aged 22-30, but then it stops really paying off.

Teachers will never be paid more, proportionally, because public education is ridiculously expensive by design.
