I think some of you are calling some of the mechanics hidden when in fact they were written into the roles and you just didn't read them. The mason/minion was written in the role for the Poacher, for example.

The only truly "secret" thing was the Prisoner mini game with bread that ended up not happening and had no effect on the outcome.

one of my favorite things was

duke barely (or not at all?) posting, but being far from the only one, and yet:

Okay so I'm just gunna go ahead and try a tactic I used last time and go with a prominent agent who might know something. So talk to us. What do you have to hide huh? Also your expense reports are always on time and flawless so that is a bit of a red flag.

uni, i think this was a thoughtfully crafted and cool game, but i think the language here (with an additional layer of thematic tone) leaves enough ambiguity to think that they're not related (i.e. inner sanctum = a fanciful way star chamber, not an even deeper secret society)

i don't think it's a huge deal. it kept me on my toes. but i don't think you could have expected a different result based on these descriptions.

universe wrote:Code Name: Ara (Masons)
Those code named Ara are mid-level analysts who were members of the same secret society at their prestigious college. The society is so secret that nobody knows what its name is. Nevertheless, if you say the name, they’ll kill you!

.....

Code Name: The Lincolnshire Poacher (Minion)
Night Action: Transmit [#####]
Each day, the Lincolnshire Poacher fires up his secret, shortwave radio to transmit five numbers (0-9) to the Wolfpack. They are not allowed to contact one another directly, as the Poacher is too close to the inner sanctum of the Star Chamber to risk blowing their cover.

Like if we just keep playing the same werewolf game that's basically on rails at this point, where's the fun? The fun is in piecing together the puzzle. And the pieces were there, but you had to put them together yourself. And some players did and some were incensed that they were expected to do anything beyond what would be expected of them in a vanilla game, which is very little.

the mechanics were bizarre but the village did not do itself a single favor

i was alive the whole time and my sorcerer role barely made a blip

If there's one thing I'm proud of is that no one had a mental breakdown during this game. As far as I know. And there were no vicious personal attacks either.

Now that the game is actually over I would be fascinated to get the full reveal on all the secret clues and mechanics and have the solution to the puzzle if you will

Does it count that I had a mental breakdown immediately prior and was intensive therapy during the duration?

Actually I've been worse off when I wasn't in intensive therapy...*coughThanatoscough*

Aw cat I'm sorry I didn't realize that was the post you were talking about. It wasn't even the late part that I liked so much, it was the out of nowhere vote for Duke and then telling Geoff he had a bad voting record
