so there's gonna be six bonus tracks / b-sides:

All Black And White (UK Limited Double CD Edition)
Grateful (UK Limited Double CD Edition; US iTunes pre-order)
Orange Sunday (UK Limited Double CD Edition; US iTunes pre-order)
Paper House (UK Limited Double CD Edition)
Weight On My Shoulders (Etsy exclusive 7")
Good Days Carry On (Etsy exclusive 7")

and Leithauser has said that the more straightforward rock songs didn't make the album, in favor of more surprising ones. so maybe some of these are those.

Weight On My Shoulders and Good Days are both great. Not rock songs though.

debating going to see them at the music box/henry fonda in L.A. on wednesday the 15th. would only have to take the blue line to the red line, and the attached blue palms brewhouse has a great beer list for pre. i just imagine myself too drunk and missing the train or something, unable to get myself a ride, spending $100 on a cab back to long beach, cock i mean head in hands, etc.

the walkmen's next daytrotter session is gonna be all covers of Led Zep songs. gonna be bad ass.

also, this joint drops next tuesday. been getting good press - Washingtop Post reviewed both Lisbon and Interpol (S/T) and wrote:

"Whereas the Walkmen have never sounded more comfortable, the same cannot be said for Interpol. Instead of a gradual march to success, Interpol has gone through the hype cycle and come out barely intact."

Also does anyone remember reading about their "book?" It's online: http://www.marcata.net/walkmen/book.html

they even designed a dust jacket with this quote at the bottom: "Not just a band, but a writer, period" - Chicago Sun Times

weird dudes, but good at music

Lisbon is fucking awesome. I love how they can do mid-tempo songs with as much intensity as the higher tempo ones

also my copy came unexpectedly autographed:

also I bet this would be a 9.whatever album if the first half became:

1. Juveniles
2. Angela Surf City
3. Weight on my Shoulders
4. Blue as Your Blood
5. Good Times Carry On

shit, the 7" and LP are $50?!?

I don't want to do the 7" and cd for $35 since I want the LP anyways...fuck, that is ridiculous. Is there any way to get the 7" individually?

oh I guess I do, but the other issue is I don't have a working male to male cord available... I also already tried digitizing at my school library and their gear was even crappier

the receiver also has the larger rca ins, so I don't have the Y cable. I have 1/8 to 1/8 cables for the computer -> reciever. someone on the walkmen message board will probably up this today though, I'll keep my eye on it

speakers i'm assuming you went to the Malkin Bowl last week too? Thoughts?

Walkmen were better.

I bought the LP, which might have been a coup considering it's not even release til tomorrow.

i thought both them and the national's sets were lackluster, which sucked considering how much hype i was given for them both prior. i blame the speaker setup, though. unless you were right in the fucking middle all i got was blaring pitch in either my left or right ear. petted some raccoons on the way to the spot, though, so that was nice.

I was on the hill. I thought Walkmen sounded good but the National was ALL vocals. Considering how Matt can't really sing and his voice is always pushed to the back so he can mumble through his lyrics on the albums i thought it was odd to have them up front here.

So ya I enjoyed the Walkmen a lot more.

Different sets and I'd say much better crowd/energy/performances/sound/everything friday night. One of the best shows I've ever seen (from both bands).

We had fun wandering around Vancity, ended up at L'Hermitage which is a really nice place.

Bryan said "that's not good for you".
