yeah, she definitely gives off realistic sociopath vibes. someone in the family did it, don't know who tho.

yeah the show is way too much about family to have it not be the mom, sister, or stepdad, IMO

there was a second during this ep that i thought elizabeth perkins was camille's real mom (when she was flirting and getting drunk with messina at the bar) but that doesn't really make any sense and i was stoned

they really captured well what it's like to come back home as an adult if you moved out of town everything is so creepy because it's exacly like it was when you were a kid but now you're an adult and you're seeing things from that perspective but you revert back to acting the same exact way you did as a kid like a role you're subconsciously playing because it says so in the script of your muscle memory

my fifth year of coming back home for christmas i had to consciously tell myself Sweet Gregory Pectin you are an adult it doesn't have to be this

just got caught up through the Calhoun Day episode. I was super skeptical after the first two episodes but now I'm like, "Alright, fine. You got me, show." The acting is a huge draw. Adams is just at the top of her game. And I don't know if it's been pointed out but it was a huge dondon for me that Alan is Kittridge from Mission: Impossible. (edit: oh I see Buzz was all over this. :) )

My general gripe is that the show is very HBO, meaning A++ production values for a trashy as hell story, has gruesome violence, child endangerment/rape/torture as automatic engine for stakes. basically all the worst traits of True Detective S1 but with a female perspective instead of a mystic bro one. which I guess makes it fresh? I dunno. I'm fully in now so I look forward to watching this wrap up.

anyone else not care who the killer is? i mean it's cool to find out but imo the murder mystery is the least interesting part of the show.

also it took like 6 episodes for them to find one piece evidence, I seriously forgot at some point there was a murder to be solved.

odilon redon wrote:is it dumb to consider that the killer might be the sheriff? that's dumb right?

not necessarily dumb but if it was him surely he'd frame some poor bastard, rather than be a sitting duck for the FBI's investigation?
