As a young man in the early '20s he kept personal diaries which turns out are filled with racist descriptions of the people he saw while traveling.

Then as an older man his beliefs evolved and he publicly decried racism as a disease of white people and supported all manner of civil rights causes.

Anyways, when I die I hope my family doesn't make public my personal internet browsing history from when I was 19.

I'm thinking... if racism was good enough for a guy like Einstein... maybe it's good enough for me?

yeah. i know this thread isn't completely tone:sincere, but this is a dumb and annoying thing to be outraged by. maybe we shouldn't tarnish the legacy of a great civil rights activist because of something he wrote in his private diary and later denounced.

I tried writing a screenplay about Einstein & Robeson's friendship (and the American Crusade Against Lynching) but I never finished it :(

here lies someone who i trusted with all manners of my personal belief system. he walked up to podiums and declared with a straight face that energy, mass, and time were no longer conserved according to the old laws. what is surprising is that people ever look to these dice rollers for any sort of meaningful generalizations about society!! first off, einstein rolled many dice while working under the assumption that his "old one" rolled none. wtf?? furthermore, his concept of the "old one" is a great bridge to get people talking about their spiritual beliefs. instead of a personified creator, it represents a divine law and harmony to these orderly emanations. the einstein personal brand seems to relax the defensive stance, although that might change soon. it comes as no surprise to me that such beautiful thoughts arose form an intense desire to escape a similar amount of hatred. any supposed clarity is born out of the extreme distance from which these observations are drawn. lock them away and don't let them pick their own translators.

The Genius Forum itself agrees that einstein wasn't even that good:

http://www.theabsolute.net/phpBB/viewto ... ?f=6&t=128

Albert Einstein, although gifted with a prodigious intellect, had a very poor relationship with Reality.
