i think FD means is there's a more logical sequence/flow to his songs. more calculated perhaps?

this is the very thing i don't think rdj is good at, however. either he's being more calculated/forced or is curating tracks which are more that way... it depends on where you stand on the whole rdj as composer vs rdj as selector argument i guess

I mean that his songs tell stories. They always have, and that's an aspect of his music that I've enjoyed as long as I've been listening to him, but to my ears he's gotten better at it. There's a progression to how he structures his songs and the amount of emotions he's able to pack into each song is kinda astounding. XMAS_EVET10 is a perfect example - he keeps layering and layering and each new element lends a different color and feel to the song. And he does it for 10 minutes. syro u473t8+e may be in my top 5 Aphex Twin tracks. Played loud enough it feels like a ride.

First half is nice enough, but I really love the second section

Also the 'strobing' seemed really tame, kinda hard to believe Adult Swim rejected it

adult swim didn't "reject" it, the video simply didn't pass the harding test

video is really good too. pretty sure part of it is taken from the streets of Lisbon? seemed familiar...

was worried that a cunningham vid would be lame so much happier with this vid

New song is really transfixing. Had it on today for the first time in a few days and felt the way Buddy Glass said until the middle section and found myself fully engaged and then immediately put it on again and then again.
