Let's talk sandwich

I think Baz and WKW both have a shot, WKW might be the favorite. I don’t know if it’s wishful thinking to think Park Chan-Wook has a shot but that would be a great miniseries.
Satoshi Kon would also be fantastic but as a director who checks off the boxes of animation, non-American, and doable in a single month, I don’t think he needs to win to get on the docket.
He said ALOT of shit last night. And most of it WASN'T how he supported a fascist.

It’s annoying that the number next to the filmmakers name when you vote is like, what, how they’re seeded? Who gives a fuck. What does that even mean. Show me how long their filmography is, something that actually weighs into how i might vote

Catching up on the MiB 2 commentary, their pitch idea is very solid, so mad that isn’t what the movie ended up as

sometimes those checks get overdrawn babee
I look at bluegrass music as this sort of glowing ball. The point is to relax the technique around the glowing ball of feeling.

I'm kinda shocked Oceans is creaming the Rocky franchise right now. I'm all in for Danny and da Crew, but Rocky would still be fun.

Feels like Boyle is the least widely available filmography of any of the 21st century folks they’ve covered

Sunshine good, Mark Strong murder spree played better than first watch back in theaters. But the finale climax where it seems like they are plummeting into the sun for 30 minutes still felt a little off.

I need to give it another shot. I just remember seeing it opening weekend and letting out an audible Goddamnit Nooo when the tonal shift kinda revealed itself and I think I just pouted through the remainder of the movie.

It makes a little more sense tonally now too after a decade of Alex Garland’s solo projects
