Got the Elm St blu-ray set for so cheap too. Getting blu-rays when they're under $3 each is like crack.

Friday IV is one of the best of the series and has a fantastic Crispin Glover performance

Also VI is the best one so you’ll be getting closer to watching it.

I just watched VI last night!

I honestly really kinda hated VI the first time I saw it, I think cause I was doing a full series watch and couldn't really appreciate the tone at the time. Going into it this time as essentially a fun dumb send up of the series I had a way better time

I have a really hard time picking a favorite in the series overall, but I still ride pretty hard for Jason Takes Manhattan as the funnest and a movie I can pretty much throw on anytime

Jason Takes Manhattan is definitely the one I’ve watched the most. Growing up my grandpa had all the premium channels and would constantly record movies to VHS and had a large catalogue to keep track. At one point I stole a VHS that had Jason Takes Manhattan followed by some softcore porn involving doing topless limbo at a party. That tape did a lot to shape my childhood. :jack:

I have officially watched 365 horror movies this year.

congrats jal ranch, that is an accomplishment! so much murder

I guess I'll have to rewatch vi because I don't remember it being notable. iv to me is the best one. it has a wee bit more of a story than the usual "jason kills everybody" and it just has this brutal darkness to it that I appreciate. plus I will eternally remember and appreciate roger ebert's tv review of it, where he was just so outraged that it even exists

last night my buddy phil and I zoom watched hell house llc. it was a good time! there were numerous times when we were like, wait I don't understand what's going on. but it was spooky and I bought into the idea of this young entrepreneur ignoring all the red flags in the need to just make it happen on opening night

I'm still not clear what happened on opening night, but I felt like it was supposed to be scary and I was cool with going with that. granted I was drunk as a lord when we watched it at 12:30am, but I can't tell you what the fates were of all of the main characters. and who was filming the thing? did they ever establish that and I just missed it?

IMO VI is the funniest (“keep it up until the end of this song!”) with some gnarly deaths and good suspense. IV would be a close second for me though.

All three Hell House LLC movies are what brought me to 365. The third one just plain sucks.

hell house llc was cool
camera person was mostly paul (?) but also sometimes tony (?) i think. there mightve also been a scene where a dude had a head mounted deal too (mack or matt? dunno his name).

I saw #3 in the theater in 3-d opening weekend. it was mindblowing. me and my two buddies bought a fifth of something for the neighborhood old drunk guy to buy us tickets and the 4 of us went in and had a party. I remember the old guy never put on his 3d glasses but was just as into as we were. the vibe in the theater was electric and chaotic, we were all screaming and hollering, it felt like the whole crowd was rioting (it's how I remember it). by the end of the movie, he'd drained the bottle (we kids were like 13 so the idea of us drinking straight liquor was lol). good time

I remember trying to see Scream 3 in theatres, we went with my buddy's cousin and her boyfriend who were over 18 thinking we'd be cool to get in since we were accompanied by adults. Turned out the theater we're like extreme sticklers about the adults having to be your legal guardians, and after getting passed two layers of security, we we're eventually stopped by a 3rd layer of security that was standing at the entrance of the theater door

Couple years later we snuck into Freddy Vs Jason no prob, first R-rated movie in theaters, walked in high af at 16 right during what at the time seemed like a "super intense dream sequence", good times

I feel like it had a moment about 15 years ago around the last time O'Bannon's name was swirling in association with AVP. At least I'm pretty sure that's when I first saw it.

edit: Actually maybe it was around the Blu-ray release in 2009 but I don't think I saw it first on Blu-ray
