I saw them on this tour too, but I thought they were awful lol. granted, a half-full amphitheater in the middle of the day wasn't ever going to be the best venue. god the Cure were fucking incredible tho.

love TOTBL, it will always be a 9.5 in my heart.

yeah I didn’t think they were bad but outdoors in broad daylight is not a good fit for interpol. the rapture were fucking great though.

this was also when I learned that Paul Banks actually sounds like a nasally weirdo. Apparently the band threw a bunch of distortion on the TOTBL vocal tracks after the fact because banks hated how his voice sounded.

That was like seeing Sigur Ros at Coachella outdoors in daylight. Completely the wrong way to see them. This was in Carson south of LA and was light and outdoors but I had a good time

I was rocked

their first headline gig at 9:30? I was at that too, it was so good (and so packed). it was the first date with a woman who knew nothing about music but was so blown away by the show and band that she became a huge music nerd after that and gave me all the credit

Yeah I think so. Looking it up I believe it was the show from October 18, 2003. 3 days before my 15th birthday :)

I was at the electric factory show four days before this one--! it was my first concert without parents coming, I was also 15.

edit: oh shit, 18 years ago today!
