Yeah Dave’s 14 was the next night and 3/21 has 4 songs released on that bonus disk.

Wharf

You should just listen to those seven Academy of music shows and slide into the European tour. The European tour is almost flawless night to night.

10/9/77 an underrated no one cares about great unique Scarlet Fire.
Other than Jerry forgetting the the lyrics at the start the Scarlet, the jam is pretty different and original for 77.
And Fire always rips.

went with an old friend who is a real ass deadhead, me who is a europe 72 / cornell level deadhead, and three of his friends that knew nothing about the dead

so heartwearming when one of his friends who had never heard a dead song before just screaming "ROLL AWAY THE DEW" by the time they got to franklin's

everyone converted

yeah my crew had a spare ticket so at the last minute I invited a friend who has never heard a note of the Dead but is a diehard John Mayer fan and she was loving it, said she'll never miss them in Chicago again

I was having a pretty incredible acid experience during the second set, really feeling that true Dead magic for the first time, and a night that I will not forget.

Jesus fuckin christ the sound was garbage though. At our actual seats, you literally could not hear anything but bass and a sliver of vocals. I could barely identify the first couple songs. We had to abandon ship and go hunting for a place where we could eke out a spot to stand and actually hear it. Luckily the staff was relaxed about standing room. I know baseball parks never make for great sound, but I've never had a huge issue before even at Wrigley. It seemed like they seriously cheaped out on reinforcement stacks to adequately cover the stands, or something was just broken. Read the same complaint online about Friday's show.

Okay I got a very specific song ID request, hoping someone much more hardcore than I can help find it. My roommate's been looking for it for literally an entire decade.

It's a live track from Dylan and the Dead, and it starts off with Dylan saying "This is an autobiographical song" and that's all we know. My guy downloaded it off of Bearshare in like 2007 and hasn't ever been able to track it down. Whoever finds and posts it in this thread gets a major reward

hmm is it off the Dylan and the Dead album? cuz I don’t wanna suffer through that to find it :D

if it’s from some show but you don’t know which, a good bet would be 7/4/87 Foxboro or 7/12/87, both of which circulate with the Dylan set in soundboard (most don’t) as well as video, and they’re the most commonly traded Dylan sets from that tour as a result

Not from the D & the D album! Thank you lol this is much help. Evidently he was trying to download Highway 61 Revisited and Bringing It All Back Home, and had to dl the albums individually and somehow got this one track too. It's reportedly got a shuffle feel (although so did much of what they were playing at the time lol)

the Keith episode of the Deadcast was really really great.. very well done.. except maybe Jesse Jarnow being unable to NOT sound pleased as punch even when saying “Keith died later that night! :D

but THEN episode 2 (completely judging by its description) is just a fucking advertisement for their new release of St Louis 71-73.. highlighting the Dead’s “special” relationship with St Louis I guess

if you’re doing an episode about St Louis before you do an episode on Chicago… you might just be trying to sell me something

still… love the focus on Keith’s playing in the Cornell Scarlet Fire

meanwhile I’m like “wait, what he’s playing isn’t in every single version?” as I realize just how elemental a few of those only played one single time piano melodies are to my understanding of S>F, like.. period.

This is an out of nowhere great show in the fall of 77.
Fall of 77 is ridiculously solid as it goes on.
10/11/77
Especially Estimated > Eyes> Drums > NFA > Wharf Rat
Is out of nowhere good.
Highly recommended.
