yeah, any deviation just serves to reinforce the conviction of a high level cover up
once you buy in, it's nearly impossible to see any development whatsoever--whether it accords with the received theorizations or not--as anything other than further and utterly infallible confirmation of conspiracy

The most frustrating thing about how Democrats have treated the NK situation is that they grant South Koreans zero agency in the whole thing

The murphy duckworth bill seems like signaling to sk and allies that we will support them, not a war mongering thing.

It's my impression that Moon is open to all kinds of options moving forward.

On Thursday, South Korea's Moon expressed his willingness to suspend the joint military drills, saying that it is necessary to "flexibly change military pressure" on North Korea if it implements denuclearisation measures.

I mean clearly President dipshit just making offhand remarks about pulling everyone isn’t giving Moon any agency either, it just feels like an overreaction

I'm probably the only person here that listens to Vox's Wordly podcast but they had someone on yesterday that was attempting to explain the political climate in SK and he pretty much said that progressives are in favor of US troops pulling out and opening talks to united the peninsula and very much in favor of how Trump and Moon are handling things. Conservatives in SK want US troops to remain and to punish NK and keep the current military exercises going. It's probably a bit more complex than that though.

Looks like it's the usual suspects holding off. McCaskill, Heitkamp, Jones, Manchin, Tester, Donnelly.

I've seen elian gonzalez invoked a bunch all of a sudden, which is so absurd. That one incident (in which he was returned to his father over a custody battle) was such a huge deal that we remember his name. And what is the point of invoking it anyway? Clinton was bad, so shut up about doing a sort of similar thing a 1,000 times? Or we're hypocrites now because 18 years ago . . . we also mad a huge outcry about elian gonzalez?

anyway, long story short i think there should be a temp ban anytime anyone mentions tigerdroppings.

the Democrats attacking Trump, from an angle that's even more to the right than Trump, in regard to certain foreign policy issues is maddening.
