I agree but I think the most troubling thing is the general malaise for activism-now the centrist dorks are sussing out what is legitimate activism/political action and straight up othering anyone who disagrees with them. Tying all your perceived enemies to a Russian conspiracy they claimed gutted our democracy is a really dark, scary trend that seems to be getting worse. At some point we have to take the centrists seriously when they say they are radically so.

idk where else to post this but netflix has now the 2000s, the latest installment of the tom hanks cnn produced super pithy decade documentaries that hit that part of my brain that loves swelling strings scoring archival footage sending a very i love the 80s sweeping generalizations of american life sentiments.

anywayy they did the W Bush years and all its disasters and human right violations and war crimes but then end with like four or five people saying that history will remember W kindly. The quotes verbatim: "Was he perfect? Far from it. Did he get us through it? Did we endure? We absolutely did. And for that, I think history will be very kind to him when evaluating his leadership." // "Bush was a good man with a good heart. The people that suggested that we go into Iraq gave him some of the worst advice any American president ever got."

i wanted to pull my hair out. i can see the media doing something similar with trump. "was he a fucking awful monster? sure. but did he inspire unparalleled activism like never b4 <3 yass queen"

the awful centrist horse account that I refuse to embed said yesterday that you can't trust "folks who primary Dems" which is such a succinct summary of how fucked up their rhetoric is at this point

I'm aware of baldwin's trump impressions through pop culture seeping into my life but I've never actually watched any clips, people saying how he really nails trump etc.

so I just watched a clip and it's a really pisspoor impression and unfunny
it's just like your boorish uncle doing a third rate impression
no art to it whatsoever
now I get why (as someone who never watches SNL) you guys are always raggin' on SNL, I thought they might be liiiike.. clever satire, but it's just dumb as hell
My listening experience in balanced mode reveals the great depth of EARTH

This week, on Saturday, Feb. 23, there will NOT be a new episode of “SNL.” The next new episode will air on March 2, when the show will be hosted by former “SNL” writer John Mulaney. And Idris Elba will host on March 9.

Jimmy Fallon is canonically Kushner in the SNL Trump Cinematic Universe.
