this is a shitty situation, but if he were to win the nomination, would we really be upset about the senate seat in november 2020 the day after sherrod beats trump by like 2 electoral votes? would we say "we should've nominated someone else so we still had that ohio senate seat"?

if he's the guy that can get the job done (and i think there's an argument to be made for that), then i can live with one less senate seat, however frustrating that fact would be

if it's 100% clear by spring 2020 that trump will not get re-elected, then sure, let's pick someone else

i guess what i'm saying is i'm less hung up on it than i was when the sherrod chatter ramped up a bit back

i disagree

Senate seats seem outrageously important, especially good red state senators, in light of what went down in 2016 and 2018

if we lost Brown's Ohio Senate seat, i don't think we're getting it back

obviously i want that senate seat. i guess i'm thinking in more tangible terms.

another way to put it: so if it comes down to like sherrod or beto or sherrod or biden or sherrod and kamala, you guys will go with them because of the senate seat? are we just flat out ruling out supporting him if he gets in and the rest of the field is iffy?

just getting an early temperature on the brown backlash, it's a valid question given the importance of the seat and that he'll be in race soon

sherrod winning while we pick up a few seats only to have his seat flip by him taking office is honestly what we deserve

the race is biden's to lose and i think only kamala or cory could beat him. bernie would of won in 16 but he hasn't exactly been our bright beacon of hope leading us forward the past two years so i think he's a goner.

anyway sherrod should run, he would win. that seat is republican forever starting next re-election, better to abdicate it than lose it. i know he is super popular in the context of living in a sea of republicans but whatever, we lost ohio, find a different map.

But if Ohio is lost, why would an Ohio politician appeal to a new map?
