Hillary was so bad

these are the same issues that all democrats face, it's factored into their electability
obama was electable, he won elections despite these issues (ran a vastly better campaign admittedly)
hillary lost because she ran an awful campaign and couldn't mobilise the vote where it mattered
that's electability, if you suck at campaigning and people would rather tune out and live with president trump, you're not very electable

SCOTUS didn't do Shelby County v. Holder until 2013

i don't think Obama faced the same level of voter suppression challenges that Hillary faced by 2016

also geographical realignment of voting groups in this country changed significantly from '08-'16. there's been a ton of self-sorting going on for the past decade. the only generation that has any shot at reversing this in the near-term is millenials.

all of this shit had a massive impact on a bunch of key statewide elections

i really don't think Florida and Ohio are gonna go blue again

maybe gillum loses in a presidential election year due to trump at the top of the ticket even worse than an off year which is very weird for a dem

maybe i am overreacting to the DeSantis favorability polls i'm seeing

that fucking asshole is shockingly popular across the ideological spectrum. hopefully it's just honeymoon phase stuff.

DeSantis has done a good job of not being in the news, doing a sort of non-shitty environmental thing, and not being Rick Scott

I’m pretty psyched for the increase in Yard Sign Reports as the primary ramps up

we're beyond entertaining ourselves to death and have directed the death hose outwardly and enthusiastically and if you can't put asses in the seats like a world champion or a megachurch pastor then seriously it's time to get the fuck out of national politics

was this joe biden quote posted already?

https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/nidhiprakash/joe-biden-hunter-biden-questions

And if you hear people on the rope line saying, ‘I'm a Republican,’ I say, ‘Stay a Republican.’ Vote for me but stay a Republican, because we need a Republican Party."

He later added that he's concerned about what would happen if the Republican Party was totally "clobbered."

"I'm really worried that no party should have too much power," he said. "You need a countervailing force."

re: biden quote, that’s exactly what they were talking about on chapo trap house regarding centrist democrats relying on republicans to be a convenient excuse for not passing the reforms they promise (not that biden is really promising much reform)

this county sucks
