Don't know who Alison Brie is but I'm lookin forward to this program. GLOW was a singularly weird thing.

I don't know what netflix is or a thread is but I'm sure whatever you're talking about will be good (is it some kind of soft drink? you know what, doesn't matter)

in fact now that I think about it, approximately 80% of the humor derives from nostalgia-based faux-ridiculousness, so your opinion of the series will be directly correlated with your tolerance of that sort of thing

this is kinda not true. if you watch the actual pilot for GLOW that was produced in 1986 (it's on youtube) if anything it's even more ridiculous than this show. they actually toned it down a bit.
I thought this show was pretty authentic tho. alison brie was great and I loved how calmly they handled
the abortionToggle Spoiler. I was all-in with these gorgeous ladies of wrestling by the end.

I'm on episode 5. maybe it gets less nostalgia-heavy, but the entire 2nd half of that episode was completely and nakedly "lol 80's"

I didn't really get "lol 80s" from that episode (I had to look it up to remind myself but it's the one where
debbie bangs steel horseToggle Spoiler).
the episode where they go to the producer's house for the party, maybe?
but I'm fine with some light ribbing of the 80s.

Yeah how the fuck are you guys going to piss yourselves over "stranger things" but throw shade at this? This is easily currently in my top 3 shows after a first run through in the past 36 hours. Great stuff.

the GLOW documentary that's up on netflix is pretty good too. it doesn't go too deep or dark, like beyond the mat or anything, but it's mostly breezy fun and only 75 minutes.
