i finished episode six and it's alright so far. i have basically the same problem that i had with season 1 of orange is the new black (which is all i could get through). it tries to balance drama and comedy and it's just barely adequate at being a drama and pretty bad at being a comedy. it probably ends up as more than the sum of its parts somehow because the characters are alright and for some reason i wanna see where it goes. i normally like alison brie a lot but she gets on my nerves here. betty gilpin is good and maron's as funny here as i've ever seen him.

Yeah - it really worked for me. Probably even with the first season or maybe slightly better.

So far two scenes got me right in the fuckin heart:

- when Welfare Queen's son is horrified but then tries to make her feel better after seeing how hurt she is at the end of the match; and

- when Maron says "fuck that guy!" after Brie tells him about the producer assaulting her

Maron is really great in the last season of his IFC show, when he relapses and it isn't just like a live-action version of the podcast.

I'm finally watching GLOW. My girlfriend loves the series, she just finished the second season, which I randomly watched a couple episodes of, and now we're starting form S1 for me.

It's so good. I love the way they balance all the characters. It's just a different kind of story, backdrop, etc. Looking forward to catching up.
plz if u get a chanse put some flowrs on algernons grave kthxbye

G_S wrote:drank down all of season 2 yesterday. still pleasant if the plotting is kind of whatever. I just need to accept the netflix wallpaper format where its rare for a particular episode to stand out. maron's got a good way of spotlighting a small moment when you've underestimated him. an actual heel turn for Debbie would've been more interesting but it all goes down easy.

really? the mothers episode, show-with-in-a-show episode, hospital episode, or finale didn't stick out? I don't watch muuuch Netflix but from my experience this one seemed more like a regular TV show than any.

About 5 eps in, Started watching somewhat halfhearted last night with my betters, what the hell, it is beyond my expectations so out there, great acting and character relations are fresh, it’s aswell done high camp fashion as it possibly could be
