loved the new bill burr @ nflx, I think he's the only comedian that can make me laugh so hard with stuff I don't agree with

in general this was one of those kinda plotty less exciting eps that theyve always had but i’ve binged previous seasons so having this ep be my only dose this week felt like a dud.

when they tackle social issues it just feels so sorkinian white guy writing for queer ppl and black and brown ppl. the heart is in the right place but it always feels off. and it stood out as a standalone.

i’m all in on danny-the-super-villain tho. can’t wait for the snap.

still mad we get hardly any molly and wayne or ellen and larry anymore

Paul Walter Hauser is extremely good in this.

As far as crime docs go I’ve been enjoying Mind Over Murder on HBO Max. Not amazing or anything but I’ve enjoyed catching it every Monday. Feel like the format could be a little more playful with its editing considering the weird play aspect of it all but better than the recent Netflix/Hulu crime docs I’ve seen.

Sounds like fans of Red Notice have another colorful action flick to look forward to in Netflix's THE GRAY MAN. Can't wait!

lead assistant editor but yeah :ugeek: glad you're enjoying, jalapeno ranch! happy to talk about it more after the finale (definitely my favorite episode) but I don't disagree about the potential for a more playful/experimental editing style.

Mind Over Murder was good del, well done

although I admittedly am slightly confused on the trend of these true crime shows doing the small-town theater version. this is at least #3 in recent years and I’m not clear on the value add.

Rap shit on HBO seems promising. Even though Issa Rae doesn't act in it it's clearly her show so if you liked insecure you'll like this. Reminds me of Zola where almost everything is told through social media

i’m rooting for Rap Shit and appreciated it but its possible i’m too old. its dependence on fluency with IG mechanics and culture- which i’m sure is fine for younger folks- was really impenetrable for me.

i did realize partway thru that Shawna is played by Aida Osman of twitter and Keep It podcast fame. i havent listened to Keep It lately bc the add breaks are literally like 5 min long, but used to like it and her a lot, so its cool to see her go from twitter to a big podcast to some writers rooms to staring in an HBO/issa show. i’ll stick with it for a few more.

Zola rules. Colman Domingo and Nicholas Braun are both great. Great dirty Florida vibes too. Fun lil flick.

But yeah movies/tv shows are gonna lean harder and harder on social media being a part of the visual narrative as time moves on.
