I thought Russian Doll was good, to very good. I had some minor quibbles, but overall I would recommend to anyone who doesn't post on this message board.

Just watched the first two eps with my wife. Really like it.

I think it helps that we were both literally in 7th grade in 2000 at the same middle school (but we didn't know each other yet).

I completely thought umbrella academy was based on a different comic I read a few runs of about teens in an academy and was kinda weirded out nothing lined up. I like american Nathan from misfits. I like this so far. It's even got the like, horrible fx fargoish Two Hitmen are Wacky Personalities thing I find so fucking irritating, except I don't here.

I think it's pretty bad.

Obviously the production values are pretty high and the cast is good. Love the chimp (nice vfx work there). Nathan from Misfits is wasted and his accent sucks. The music in most cases has no connection to the plot and seems to usually serve as a signifier that what's going on on-screen is supposed to be cool. That and the style of the action scenes reminds me a lot of Zack Snyder at his worst and most self-indulgent. The tone is wildly inconsistent. And yeah, it's kind of boring. I'm only two episodes in and it feels like it's dragging.

Overall it kept making me think of Utopia and man that is not a comparison that works in its favor.

Yeah. We made it through ep4 last night and 3 & 4 are so much better than 1 and 2.

Also, what was up with the end of episode 2?

The Umbrella Academy is great. Cameron Brittons character is my favorite, he played Edmund Kemper in Mindhunter. I mean I'd give it like a 6/10.

I imagine. She seemed to be hitting it off pretty well with the Israeli guy. Such a weird way to present the end.

Aside from the moustachiod man, they all seemed pretty normal.

Are you referring to the guy who decided his best look was a man bun?

we've watched 2 episodes of umbrella academy and it's alright. i think i went in with such low expectations that it couldn't fail though.

i like that the guy from love/hate is in it.

edit: 3 ep in and i guess the point of the show is that they actually don't have any super powers? those two annoying hitmen easily turn them over.

diego is also super annoying. not sure i am gonna last the distance.

Dating Around definitely peaks at 3 & 4. Very good takedown of a total shitheel in episode 5 though.

This show is awful. The biggest burn-the-budget show since The Romanoffs.

Yeah.

Honestly the only reason I might keep watching is that the woman who plays Allison is just gorgeous.
