Jim Norton plays Don Rickles in the Scorsese Netflix movie. I'm rapidly approaching seinfeld.gif.

PEN15 is so good and so brutal.

Watching the character of Maya is such a privilege. Almost hyperventilated laughing during her drum solo.

edit: Anna, too. episode 9 damn

Russian Doll is really, really good. The only thing that bothered me a bit about it at times was the dialogue but everything else was great. The story kept moving forward with a good pace and unexpected twists and turns. There wasn't a single filler ep. The supporting characters were good. Loved the ending! Just a really well done show. Two thumbs up.

I'd never heard of the Umbrella Academy until I walked through some promotion/filming type thing at Bryant Park on friday night and there were a bunch of signs saying you are releasing your image by walking through, so we immediately cut the fuck out.

PEN15 was really awesome, like the creators and plenty of people on here i was also born in 1987, so it sure did bring up the worst years of my adolescence in acute detail as well. in fact, bringing up the very idea of this show with an old friend of mine while we were eating dinner at a restaurant cause an argument so loaded with issues from the past that it almost exploded the entire evening.

anyway, maya and and anna are great, show is a lot of fun, really wish they could just keep on going grade by grade.

In an interview i read one of them said they plan to keep the show in seventh grade indefinitely but have it address more mature (8th, 9th, 10th grade) problems as it goes on.

I was loving Umbrella Academy for the first 8 eps and was ready to come in here and defend it, but hoo boy those last two stunk. The plotting, the dialogue, the acting, the effects all took a nosedive back to 90s made-for-TV Stephen King adaptation quality. Like this was Langoliers/Under the Dome level bad.

minding the gap link btw. i think the runtime is a few minutes less than the theatrical/hulu version and i'm sure they had to bleep a fair amount.

started 'pen15' last night after seeing so many positive comments in the thread for it.

i had been pretty ready to dismiss it without checking it out because somehow the name 'pen15' made me think it'd have lazy writing and i expected to find a subpar 'freaks and geeks' -- but no, it's good and different so far if anyone else is still on the fence
