i must be the only one who prefers 'charli' (this is good too!)
many of these tracks seem like... vessels for the production. idk.

feelin this
I look at bluegrass music as this sort of glowing ball. The point is to relax the technique around the glowing ball of feeling.

i dont think it's a sample but it's similar to "where's your head at" from the basement jaxx, which is a Gary Numan sample

Pop 2 is a classic to me so I'm happy to hear an edgier sound on a studio album from her. But it's edgy in a different way. Pop 2 was like the maximal peak of the PC Music sound, hyper-aesthetic with a heavy focus on weird vocal production and collaboration. This feels more post-100 gecs but the songs are softer, more intimate and rawer than really anything she's ever done. You can feel the immediacy /urgency in it
"detonate" is a bop
DJs had worsened since the rising, elaborating on nothing in praise of the track, with words they could hardly pronounce, in telephone voices

maybe i’m just super emotionally receptive to music right now but i’ve loved all the major post covid releases (the strokes, fiona, this, the 1975)
