Sorry to talk about rooftops in the hats thread but I think the ‘red car in the fountain’ in tinseltown and the ‘red guitar is broken’ in stay are the same thing

i love the little guitar lick in "hillside": ~2:32-33 in the studio version and at 20:43-44 in that Free Trade Hall show that i linked above.

Unabashedly saying Peace at Last is my favorite now

It's tragic there's not anymore albums. Haven't been able to get into the solo album at all

This is really great. I was initially feeling very self-conscious listening to this but then I was suddenly swept up the earnestness of it. Wow.

i thought it was kinda overly gloomy and samey initially, but I really love the solo album now. I sing half the world to my baby a lot.

i FINALLY got around to listening to Hats after making a note of it from pfork's top albums of the 80s i think

literally still have the tab open, made it about 15 minutes in but it hasn't clicked. i didn't get the hype for lewis lamour either so maybe this is just not meant for me.

but i'm not giving up on it yet.

Hell yeah! I scored a sealed copy of A Walk Across the Rooftops on the cheap last year, but it's been surprisingly impossible to find a copy of Hats, so this is very welcome

I'm really feeling this album tonight for the first time. I've tried a few times over the years and bounced right off of it, but I get it now. I love it when that happens.

Just listened to Hats for the first time tonight as well, after one or two previous attempts. It has clicked
