we're going to have a long auction draft for the keeper league. so it might not be such a bad thing.

I've been looking through the settings for the past hour and have no idea, but I'm going to try and figure it out
I do find the prospect of a two-week 14-team snake draft to be hilarious though

I'm taking the day off so I can do the live keeper draft on Sunday. I'm in Australia, so it will be Monday for me.
Would be much appreciated if we could do the L2 draft that same day just before the keeper draft and do 30 second pick limit like last season.

regarding the auction and keeper league:
i'm still researching what yahoo will allow in terms of keeper rules, but i think i've figured it out. i want to keep the auction draft year-to-year to set it apart from other leagues. as such the cost penalty for a keeper is now the player's auction value +$5 every year. so if you draft say, donovan mitchell this year for $1 and you wish to keep him, his cost becomes $6 the next year and $11 the following year. this works out because yahoo definitely allows me to do custom auction budgets and assign keepers. tenure will still be set at 3 years, meaning after 3 consecutive seasons on a team, the player must return to the draftable pool. i'll find a way to keep track of that. with this system, because there are no future "draft picks," we won't have to worry about keeping track of trades involving future draft picks or anything like that.
unless there are any objections, these will be the rules regarding keepers and i will post them to the league.

I am tentatively excited for the auction keeper draft, but based on my current slow draft in a different keeper league, man, my team is gonna be a train wreck. A beautiful, beautiful train wreck.

i've been doing some mock auctions (mocktions?) and it's pretty cool to be just be able to bid for any player you value more than others and usually get them. i'd suggest everyone in the league do a mock just to get the rhythm of an auction.
anyhow, since there were no objections, those rules will be posted to the league with the following caveats in case these situations come up: undrafted players will carry a value of 0 dollars, but if you keep them, their value still increases to $5 the following year. those who are drafted retain their cost no matter what, meaning that if one manager drafts a $1 player and ends up dropping them and another manager picks them up, their price if kept for the following year is $6. this is important in cases of season-ending injuries, so like if a $10 dollar player has a season-ending injury and their manager drops them, their value for next year once recovered wouldn't just be $5 if some other manager decides to keep them in the IR slot as a keeper.

Let ratbag play!
Also landspeed I can't do Monday 10/16
I know the auction league draft is currently scheduled for Sunday night, so any other time before that would be better than Monday. But I am more than happy to set my draft order and miss it if Monday is the consensus option.

is ratbag interested in keeper+auction? we'd have to find one more person for an even amount of teams.

also yahoo's default is 2 centers for a league that plays fewer bigs every day - do we want to keep 2 C's or reduce it to 1? my ideal league would be 8-cat (no TOs) and 1 center starting spot, but i understand why people like yahoo's default as well. it's probably too late to change anything this year if people have already been prepping, but maybe something to consider next season.

Yes, 1 C. It's the 2017-18 NBA. 2 Cs is barbaric.

What about 9pm EST on Sunday? The auction draft will be done by then and that remains a decent time for those on the west. We should be able to wrap up in about 30-40 mins w 30 sec picks.
Also 100% on board with replacing a C with a Util.

The time is perfect right now, it's still H2H and a snake draft, yeah?
