I wore a fanny pack yesterday for the first time in three decades. Maybe I too can be a PG for the Knicks?

Very confused. Is Okobo the only PG in Phoenix now or am I forgetting somebody?

I guess they’re still pretending Booker is a PG.

I guess if the Suns like Melton and have no hope for Chriss it's not thaaat much salary to take on. Phoenix's PG situation is very confusing though

i don't know, i don't think chriss or knight are long for this league. they take on a bad anderson contract for a shot with melton? i don't see what they have to lose. it's not like they're in contention. maybe i'm just higher on melton and lower on chriss than everyone else.

I'd much rather have one year of Anderson at $21 million than two years of Knight at $30 million. I don't think Chriss is ever going to pan out and Melton should get a lot more playing time in Phoenix than he would have in Houston

kokoskov has said he has little intention to use booker at pg, so I'm wondering again if this is a prelude to them moving tj warren for a starting-caliber guy

Ryan Anderson has two years and $41.7 million left though. Man that contract is brutal

A fleecing on which end? Knight is owed $30 mil for two more seasons and he's barely played the past two years. Melton could be a stud.

just let melton and okobo duke it out for starting pg and evaluate the talent. the suns are in the phase right now where they have to see what they have. melton is 6'3'' with a 6'8'' wingspan and has shown promise as a secondary playmaker. booker can do a little bit of playmaking, so you can just roll with 2 combo guards. i firmly believe melton has changed his shooting mechanics enough from summer league footage.

it's just confusing cause phoenix has no starting ready point guard...or really any point guard going into a season where they have the no. 1 overall pick and it's set up in such a way that a PG that knows what they're doing would seem vital

he's projects to be a good team defender and can make up for booker's deficiencies there

Both Anderson and Knight have 2 years so it's more like Anderson at 42 mil vs Knight at 30.

Melton showed a ton of potential in summer league.

Decent trade for both sides since the Suns get a good defensive wing prospect and they won't be winning for a couple years anyway, and the Rockets didn't have to give up a 1st round pick after all.

Knight hasn't done shit in 2 years but he's still only 26 and could spell CP3 when inevitably gets injured.

Chriss, meh.

there's no way they can sustain with 2 combo guards. like someone on staff understands that so are they just planning to drop another year?

The Suns won't be good for two seasons so a $10 million difference for a dude who won't play versus a dude who shouldn't play isn't really that bad of an exchange for Melton's upside though.

Mostly the PG issues are the only weird thing.

phoenix had a chance to draft melton and passed in favor of okobo. maybe they didn't love what they saw at summer league, so this is another bite at the apple. it doesn't matter who it is as long as one of them develops. they have no interest in being good now, they're still trying to figure out which pieces belong in their young core.
