This was pretty good but I wish it was self-contained and not a cliffhanger for season 2.

I was actually expecting it to be a one off season, so that part blew me way.

Maybe it didn't have to be so over the top, but I loved coming away with the feeling that things are just getting started.

Of course that's how I felt at the end of season one of Lost, and we all know how that turned out.

I enjoyed the music and sound design on this series from what I watched. It was a bit drawn out but still really a pleasure to watch mostly. Did not even bother to try to listen to it dubbed. I wish Netflix did not automatically dub things like this, it seems like a big turnoff

weird, when i started the show, it actually defaulted to subtitled.

but it still sucked for a while because it was the first thing i'd watched with the new stereo and i hadn't synced up the processing delay yet, so none of the sounds matched up at first. took days of fiddling before it finally started to look like the words were coming out of the people's mouths.

To the people saying it's too slow/dull: It's a fucking DRAMA you herbs. Not everything is meant to be a damn action thriller

You might have a point if you weren't talking to someone whose favorite TV show is Rectify.

Anyway, this is a dull pastiche of Twin Peaks and convoluted scifi shit. Pass.

My post was smart and the response was dumb. It being a drama allows it to be as slow and brooding as it wants to be. Is Downton Abbey too slow?

i don't think lack of action was anybody's problem with the show.

but if it was, i'll get your back.

oh yeah i don't know that i necessarily have a problem, in principle, with the idea of jonas vaulting forwards in time as the conclusion to the season, but the visualization of the future as a postapocalyptic wasteland was so dumb and triteToggle Spoiler

still looking forward to s2

Just finished this tonight. Final scene was a let down, but right up until that moment I was hooked.

Ep 8 really ramped up the dark side of things.Ulrich beating the kid with a rock was a shocker.Toggle Spoiler

I'm a big fan of nuclear and time travel based stories, so this is extremely my shit.

Everyone should check out the show Black on Netflix. It's Korean, it's not very much like Dark but it's amazing.

It's like the total opposite of Dark in terms of execution and subtlety, but it's just as good if not better in its own way

I just started this today. First episode was good, pretty much my jam with Twin Peaks vibes and Fincher's Dragon Tattoo cinematography. I also thought the score was pretty awesome.

And I watched it with subtitles on the treadmill.

i'm so sad that i won't be able to visit winden again until probably 2019.

2052 should just be another setting in season two. we'll still spend time in in the other three eras, although maybe not 1953 if we somehow reconfigured the triquetra or whatever. i hope we continue looking at the relationships and don't get too hung up with noah vs. claudia though

p.s. yasin, elisabeth's boyfriend, was one of the bodies found at the future site of the nuclear power plant in 1953, if that wasn't clear.
