The group achieved a string of twenty consecutive top ten singles in the United Kingdom, including four number ones.

The group was named the United Kingdom's biggest selling girl group of the 21st century, with over 4.3 million singles sales and 4 million albums sold in the UK alone.

Their boy band competitors from the same show were called One True Voice

Years active 2002–2003

This group would've never been formed if the music reality format had been more developed at the time. None of them would've passed auditions probably.

feel like the riot grrrl movement really fucked up by not using this as a band name first.

Yeah. Weird, because the rest of their stuff seems to be available.

It was so funny growing up in the UK and hearing about various pop stars and their failed attempts to "make it in America." I'm pretty sure they never even tried with Girls aloud.

I've either just noticed that there's a pun in their name, or I forgot it was there, either way I don't really care!

Waking up every morning when I was 10 or 11 wondering if Robbie Williams had finally broken America.

"Radio" is a song by British pop singer Robbie Williams. It was the first single from his hits compilation Greatest Hits, released in 2004. Williams wrote the song's distinctive synth-pop melody by attempting (and failing) to play Harold Faltermeyer's Axel F on an electronic keyboard, from memory.

Yeah. Robbie Williams had a hit single around this time that featured him singing "I am scum" over and over again. Maybe Cheryl could have sung it instead.

Nicola's mostly working as a songwriter now. She's pally with Kimberley and Cheryl, wrote some songs for her

Cheryl's incident back then was bad but then you did think Girls Aloud would be the girl group to have a member locked up for assault in a night club

Wait, this was the combined group of rejects right? Video's blocked for me but the chorus definitely rang in my head when I read the title.
