no. i do get the sense that's true though i don't really know enough about australian culture to give any real insight, but am def interested.

I'm thinking about how the imagery of Peripatetic Sessions are important for establishing the musician as a kind of traveller, who goes from town to town bringing music to the people everywhere they go. Like it shows them as some kind of magical, musical johnny appleseed hobo figure in a way.

hm, i'll have to do a longer post with some links on this at some point.
i've found out about a few bands from this one facebook americana group called post to wire and it took me a little while to realize it was based out of australia...that led me down a whole other rabbit hole, there's a whole ecosystem of australian promoters bringing american americana/folk/country bands through for tours. like josh hedley and johnny fritz apparently do really well in australia. then one day i saw my own band on one of their playlists which was confusing/cool, but I would love to tour there.
