i just type random hoot terminology into the youtube search bar and sometimes you come across some entirely weirder non-hoot stuff that makes you take a break from the computer

there are forests
there are tiny electric sea horses

I know how to do it now. There are nearly thirteen million hootbros in the world. None of those people is an extra. They're all the leads of their own Sessions. They have to be given their due.

i know we've talked about this tangentially but i was just thinking (in trying to frame a response to Bartatuas inquiry about the essential nature of Sessions) about how hoot is almost actually predicated on the existence of youtube/vimeo

like, Sessions are these produced/often high def staged recordings of bands that, in another era, would just be playing at the local jam band friendly college bar that does live music every night maybe very rarely getting filmed with a camcorder or something and largely existing just as a Local Band in a sort of vacuum. yet because of the performative/produced nature of Sessions and youtube aggregation/autoplay/keyword functionality they exist for us in a very different way. as sort of like, weird folksy theater troupes staging bucolic novelties along with their earnest stompings and pluckings

i imagine everyone at a faux hoot sesh is drinking kombucha and everyone a LEGIT hoot sesh is drinking sarsaparilla
