It makes sense to me that wagon wheel would be the face that launched a thousand ships. The hootfleet

and boy did they ever. the last four songs they played were hoot-tastic. apparently we missed old crow medicine show because we were still drinking in the parking lot. oops. didn't expect them to play first or play so early. I actually did want to hear them play wagon wheel but oh well. I got to talk to a guy in line for the bathroom who was a real hoot-head. he asked who i came to see and when I said willie he just said "respect... respect." and then told me how much he loves head and the heart. nathaniel rateliff stomped a lot and sang a lot of soulful hoot stuff. he had someone on keys playing a hammond with a leslie that sounded pretty dope.

willie was great but he is 85 years and about that level of energy, but it was super cool to hear him sing whiskey river and "mamas don't let your babies..." and on the road again and to see him playing trigger

one of the things that stuck with me that the hoot-bro said was that he loves head and the heart (a band from seattle) because they sing a lot about growing up in the south and he respects that because it's "so much harder living in a southern state" (???). now I'm really regretting not getting tix to the bon iver fest to do a little more anthropology there

As a fan of jam bands, it scares me that Twiddle has been climbing the ranks so fast in that community. I can not take them seriously at all.

There is a Phish covers tribute on bandcamp somewhere where someone submitted Twiddle's song 'Jamflowman', but the cover was made from memory and only involved the guy mumbling "jamflowman, hes the jamflowman' over and over.

twiddle will definitely be the band that bridges the diminishing divide between the denim overalled hoot bros and the hula-hooping, candy-flipping patchouli crowd

I was actually going to check them out back in May at Summercamp Festival but their set was like the only one that got rained out all weekend. It was kind of amazing. 90+ degrees and sunshine basically all of Thursday-Sunday but there was one hour of potential thunderstorms and it was during the Twiddle set. I guess they still got to do their VIP set and their late night set, but it definitely seemed like some higher power was trying to stop the JAMFLOWMAN.

was hanging with my friend yesterday at a concert and he told me he's going to bon's hoot festival in eau claire (mainly to see his friend present a sculpture). I asked if he was going to make pilgrimage to bon's cabin and we went on this great bit about giving tours of bon's historic cabin wherein some of the most legendary and earthiest tunes on For Emma Forever Ago were recorded. "This is the room where bon recorded Skinny Love". And then there would be a gift shop where you can buy authentic, limited edition prints of Pitchfork's legendary 9.5 BNM review of For Emma Forever ago. Like a kind of hoot Graceland.
