i have a roku stick that runs my netflix / prime / hulu. what's the best service to use to get rid of regular directv? directv now? vue? super hulu? i'd like to keep my locals / fox sports southwest for mavs / hbo / showtime.

I'm pretty into my Sling TV account.

$25 bucks a month and can get all the things you mentioned besides premiums like hbo and showtime which are extra and idk the pricepoint on that.

Also have seen positive things about the youtube tv outside of having to control from the phone so guests are kind of S.O.L if they want to control your tv when visiting.

I have Hulu TV for a while but I just switched to DirecTV Now

Hulu TV has free DVR when you sign up, it works pretty easily, but I switched to DirecTV Now because it had VH1 and all the Viacom channels that Hulu TV does not have.

yeah they are all about $35. I tried out Youtube TV and it was pretty cool, just to be able to use it in browser, and they have DVR capabilities too, but they were lacking in a lot of the channels that DirecTV Now had (mostly VH1 for drag race)

There are no league-owned networks, MLB Network, NBA TV, NFL Network or NHL Network. None of Turner’s networks, CNN, TBS, TNT, truTV or Turner Classic Movies are listed. And none of Viacom’s networks, MTV, Spike or VH1 will be on when YouTube TV launches.

yeah, i was scoping this. it has pretty much any basic cable channel i use (plus my mavs channel) for the $35/month package and adding HBO only adds $5 per month. i can prob live without the showtime / cinemax / starz. im thinking i can probably save over $100 a month.

Well you want a good pair of scissors, and then you place the cord on the middle of the blades and press down firmly. If you're worried about your tremor acting up maybe have a young person do the cutting for you. No shame in aging gracefully...

psst this is a really good deal

get a free Apple TV 4K 32GB (retails for $180 on Amazon)

when you pay for three months of DirecTV Now upfront ($35 a month)

so you'll be getting an Apple TV 4k for $105, plus three months of the DirecTV Now app (60 live channels, I've tested out Hulu TV and PS Vue and Youtube TV, and DirecTV Now is by far my favorite and has all the channels I was looking for)

I was already a DirecTV Now subscriber but I just signed up for this deal today and I'm gonna cancel my other account

how quickly did you receive your apple TV in the mail?

i've heard they ship it out pretty quickly, which is good because i'm an impatient person

it was on my doorstep 3 days after signing up, def quicker than I expected. I wish I knew how long this offer would go for cos I'd love to sign up with a different account for another one before it expires.

Like I really need the catharsis of telling spectrum I don't need them any more. Instead I have to say "no more $120 tv/internet package, I'm just taking the $70 internet package ... SUCKERS!"

i get a "discount" for having TV and fucking "digital phone service"

if i cut it down to just internet it would get slightly more expensive, not less

this cable company also knows they have this specific area on lock so the "i'm switching to [phone company broadband]" tactic to get your bill slashed doesn't work on them at all

like the young lady on the other end of the phone actually chuckled softly at me when i tried it on them

I cut the cord over a year ago but i also dont watch much most days. I function with roku but the problem is in canada roku is still fairly shit cause a lot of stuff isn't in canada yet. Wanted the TCM roku channel (not called tcm but forgot the name) Not available. Neither is Hulu. So it's netflix, the free channels (most are garbage but if you dig you can find some stuff) and anything else i may want to watch i just torrent. Or stream illegally like for WWE. i'd have subbed to the network but in canada you can't get it without a cable provider, EVEN if you just want to use the online service, which is fucking shit and dumb and i'm sure there must be a law about it so that people aren't tempted to cut the cord and just get amerian channels online. Though i have to say i'm not that keen on putting money in the pocket of a Trump supporter like Vince Mcmahon anyway but id love access to the library.
