there's one or two Earl Weaver recordings that rival the Collins one but seeing it in HD makes all the difference

the yankees are half a game back because the red sox are more games over .500 and the yankees have played like 7 fewer games

statsistically you would think the yankees would go 4-3 or 5-2 in those 7 games but you can’t assume it so they’re still “behind” in the first sense but likely to not be behind in the latter sense

still can't wrap my head around the math behind these AL East standings

Win pct is very straightforward. I thought GB was too but this Boston Globe piece (the only one I can find addressing this oddity at all) is convincing me otherwise.

this is not really clicking with me

my sincere condolences to all the people who pay 5 bucks a month to read Ken Rosenthal suggest things like trading Rafael Devers for two months of Manny Machado

the cleveland team should feel bad that it is the middle of June and they're 2.5 games ahead of the tigers

how about those white sox though

I will gladly take a June record that is anywhere near .500
are the Tigers poised to sell off anything sell able at the deadline or are they going to buy into the mirage of the shittiness of the AL central that they can make a run?
second option seems like a pretty good way to stall your rebuild for a couple years

Just imagine if the White Sox hadn't traded Fernando Tatis Jr. for James Shields.

It could be worse. At least your team didn't trade one of their best prospects for a rapist who is also, incidentally, a very bad pitcher.

as much as I love Quintana, the Quintana for Eloy/Cease trade will over shadow the Tatis trade in a couple seasons, especially if the sox can get anything for Shields at the deadline this year

avila strongly implied that they will not buy, which is good

I want them to trade nicholas castellanos now while the going is good, but that opinion is not popular among tigers fans. apart from fulmer, whom they should not sell, I don't know what else is worth anything. greene maybe, liriano maybe, iglesias not really.

future is so bleak for kansas city. I'm happy for them that they won the world series when they had the chance because the foreseeable future looks very grim for them.

When Epstein said “the best of our farm system is in Chicago, wearing rings”... I felt that.
