This is the definitive version of these all-time classics and will be the best Shenmue experience to date. The re-release will stay true to the originals with modernised features including fully scalable screen resolution, choice of modern or classic control schemes, PC graphics options, an updated user interface and the option to enjoy either the original Japanese or English voiceovers

i read an ign article about this that said 3 is expected in the second half of the year

so that means this probably happens pretty soon right

Doesn't look like much has actually been done to the graphics besides an uprez; the shadows still exhibit that blocky weirdness when Ryo's running toward Game You in Yokosuka

awesome news. I hope they make the race and/or the crates section skippable at the docks though. It's always the most tedious part to go through on replaying the first game.

the graphics dont need much of an upgrade, architecture. im most excited about the new controls

though it would be cool if ryo's in game model was always his highest poly cutscene model. same for any other character that has one. that'a clearly not the case in the above trailer, but it is work in progress

then again, maybe those models would stand out a little much in-game

Also you should be able to ruin your life by spending all your mob docks money playing Fantasy Zone, because in reality that probably happened a lot.

I was a little hopeful they’d do a full remake, but I legitimately can’t wait to play these games again. I haven’t played either one in over a decade. I know they’re gonna be rough as hell, but nothing has ever transported me as much as either of these games... particularly the second one. I hope items will transfer all the way to Shenmue 3.
