Hitler with surfer's eye? I think it might go a little something like this: "Allow me to paint this technically competent but otherwise unremarkable intersection in some street in interwar Vienna, or, as it's called by the locals, ""Ween." '
That I would miss, I guess I should say. I just watched Rosemary's Baby recently. I don't know what I'm supposed to do when these people get cancelled.

Isn’t the Kanye thread a permanent fixture on the front page? Seems like quite a few people here aren’t ashamed to worship him still. Weird comparison to make, Kev.

I mean there are like two guys who post in that thread every day. They do idol worship and people laugh at it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
one of my friends thinks the only reason Morrissey has been acting like this in recent years is because he still wants to be a rebel, and the way he has found to achieve this is to go against pc culture. I don't know if this is the case but like someone else said I don't think any fans of the music he has put out since the beginning of his career are likely to be converted, and for me it's not that hard to believe he does shit like this to get people riled up on twitter.
It bums me out that people here say that they'll celebrate when he dies. For me nothing he could ever say could outweigh the feelings I have for his music. In 50 years no one will care what he was saying on twitter or in interviews but his songs will still be heard and they will still touch people. He's still responsible for many over the years turning to vegetarianism and veganism, for promoting animal rights and other things that are objectively good. I'm sorry I really can't be convinced his life is a net negative to the world.

Last time I looked, he was trying to argue that Kanye's slavery comments were a lot more nuanced than people were crediting him for. Grim stuff!

it just seems like a shitty position
"he is bad now don't support him" is simple strategy to employ when a famous person does a bad thing
you don't have to burn your records or ruin your childhood or whatever
just... don't support him - don't buy tickets or merch, don't give him clicks
i'm a cishet white guy with all the privilege in the world and the absolute minimum i can do is this and i am committed to it and also posting on hpn about it because i'm obviously to ensconced in my comfort to do real actual helpful things
