good show, did enjoy a lot

don't enjoy the end... definitely hate that she killed the new friend... seems way unreasonable

and just altogether... "oh, we had you thinking... then we lost ya... but then we got ya!" (I thought it was Amma a lot in the first half)

i hadn't watched the end of the credits before previous posts, although still in the same boat

The twist was great but my enthusiasm was gone the moment Camille decided to let herself get poisoned, and the shitty deus ex of her editor randomly saving the day.

The head of the town's daughter murders people. Should we change it? Can we?

just finished this today, and i enjoyed the hell out of it! i was inclined to like it because it reminded me of a bunch of things i'm a fan of (including southern gothic novels about fucked up families like we have always lived in the castle and small-town murder mysteries like twin peaks, among others) but i thought it was executed really well.

even if the main murder plot was on the back burner for most of the first half, the show was still effective at creating a sense of dread, and the exploration of camille's psyche was v compelling (and ended up being relevant to the plot after all). i didn't think the reveal at the end was gimmicky -- there were lots of clues that snapped into place with the ending, so i didn't feel like it came out of nowhere. the credits montage was a little cheesy, but it did clear up some questions i had, so i can't complain too much.

my only regret is i wish i watched this as it aired. oh well.

sharp objects feels like the perfecting of a method that they dabbled with in BLL, especially the flashbacks and quick cuts and diagetic music etc.

the editor thing wasn't really a deus ex. they built the relationship with the editor and he was begging her to come back to st louis and she broke down on the phone with him. it would make sense for him to go after her.
well that was intense

and camille letting herself get poisoned as a way to distract her mom's attention from her sister made sense in the world they'd built.
